Union County Sheriff Fugitive Unit Catches Wanted Man

The Union County Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit recently apprehended a man who has been on the run since last Christmas. The fugitive was wanted for allegedly stabbing a Union resident a few days before Christmas after a card game went seriously wrong.

The kicker is that, according to reports, the victim was actually the man’s friend and was letting the suspect live with him for several months leading up to the incident because the suspect was previously homeless. Reports say that everything spiraled out of control when the suspect grabbed the victim’s own kitchen knife and stabbed him several times with it before fleeing. That’s one heck of a Christmas present.

Luckily for everyone, including the defendant, the man survived his wounds. Now the defendant faces several severe criminal charges including Aggravated AssaultUnlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes. Now it is time for the defendant to invest in an experienced criminal attorney and concentrate of potential defenses including self-defense. Moreover, there can often be proof issues if the only evidence is the alleged victim’s testimony. If you or a loved one has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon it is important you speak with an attorney so you can make educated decisions moving forward.
